About Us

We were on founded March 5, 1974. Dr Schultz of Sunnyside Hospital of Port Jervis donated a used 1964 Cadillac Meteor Miller ambulance to Greenville FD. They opted not to respond to EMS calls at that time and residents that felt a need for such a service founded Greenville Township Ambulance Corp. This ambulance served the town until 1979 when we bought our first new ambulance. We were one of the first BLS certified agencies in Orange County by the New York Department of Health. We were stationed at the Town of Greenville Garage until 2001. In 2001 we built a new building which we currently reside. This was possible due to the generous donations of the residents of the town and through many hours that local businesses and members donated. We are the primary BLS agency for the Town of Greenville, which is 30.5 square miles. We cover nearly 16 miles of I-84. When we retired our first ambulance it was sold and the money helped pay for our new ambulance. Our original ambulance served the agency for approximately 5 years.

Our second ambulance was sold to us by Cornwall Hospital and was a Dodge van. It was a 1973 that was cut down the middle and had the entire body widened. Our third ambulance was a Wheeled Coach that we bought new with money given to us by New York Power company when they put power lines in the area. This ambulance was a Ford Econoline 2 wheel drive gas. This ambulance did catch fire while on a call. Thankfully the driver at the time was a member of Greenville Fire Dept and was able to put the fire out and no one was harmed. The ambulance did stay in service after this incident and continued to serve the community until 1996 when we replaced it with another Wheeled Coach.

In 1996 we replaced our third ambulance. Our 4th ambulance again was a Wheeled Coach(Pictured Below). It was a Ford Econoline 2 wheel drive. But new to us was it was a diesel engine. This would be our first diesel engine. This ambulance served the community from 1996 until 2008. This ambulance was then sold to Mobile Life Support Services who is our ALS provider and is still in service as a Special Operations truck. Mainly this is used by them for large scale events and can provide rehab to Fire Fighters and other Emergency services on prolonged events.

In 2008 we replaced our third ambulance 095 with a brand new Road Rescue. 096 was new to us because it was on a truck chassis and has 4x4.

We respond to nearly 400 calls annually. We have two American Heart Association certified CPR and First Aid Instructors. Four of our members have higher education and are NYS Paramedics. We are certified to teach Narcan use to the public as well. We are always looking for new members that want to be active in the community. We enjoy serving our residents and working with our surrounding agencies such ad Mountain View Fire and Rescue and Mobile Life Support Services. Mobile Life provides advanced life support to the town when requested.
